HCC is proud to announce that as of mid-March 2023, the organization has TNR’d over 350 community cats (our stated target) from the city of Llano. The program, started in March 2021, was funded by Petco Love and our dedicated HCC donors. HCC volunteers were crucial in trapping, taking cats to the vet for spay/neuter, etc.

This program has saved the lives of Llano kitties: intake by Llano’s Animal Control has dropped over 60%; as a result, transfers to shelters declined over 75%; and – best of all – injured cats brought to Animal Control that had to be euthanized plunged a whopping 80%! HCC thanks Petco Love and our dedicated donors for helping us save the furry vermin-fighters in the city of Llano. With your renewed help, HCC is hoping to expand the program to other areas.

However, these programs are not just about money. HCC needs volunteers to help us trap community cats, keep them in traps in a safe space to fast overnight, take them to our special vets for spay/neuter the next day, bring them back, and release them after the anesthesia has worn off.  Of course, we will train you in how to do all this. If you are willing to help in your area, please call us at 830-598-9883. The area where we get the greatest number of volunteers is likely to be our next target for intense TNR, so don’t wait to let us know that you are willing to help!
